After the successful special screening at the Novi Sad Film Festival in September 2023, the first feature-length animated documentary produced in Serbia “Prince of the Seas” will be presented at FEST 2024 in Belgrade, as part of the FEST ANIMA program.
The film produced for global distribution by the animation studios ILBE Studios and Furuna Crafts with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, will be screened on March 2nd, at 7p.m. at MTS Dvorana, and March 3rd, at 3p.m. at Ušće Cineplexx.
The Serbian audience will have another opportunity to see the 2D animated story of Prince Albert I, Monaco’s greatest reformer and sea enthusiast. While working with the existing script, the group of the local artists entirely developed the aesthetics of the film.
Relying on the classic animation style, this 2D animated documentary takes on a journey through memories of Prince Albert I, from the time in the Spanish Royal Navy to circumnavigating the Arctic Circle. It reveals his life path, divided between the responsibilities of the royal title and his love for the seas and the oceans.
The scriptwriter and the director: Carla-Marie Rey Faggionato
