"Tell It Like a Woman” premiere in Serbia announced at the press conference at the Embassy of Italy

The press event washosted on the ocassion of the Italian-Serbian film festival opening 

The Serbian premiere of “Tell It Like a Woman”, which opens a this year’s Italian-Serbian Film Festival, was announced at the press conference hosted at the Embassy of Italy in Serbia. 

The press conference hosted on the ocassion of the 8th edition of the Italian-Serbian Film Festival in Belgrade gathered dozens of Italian and Serbian media representatives.

Anđelka Janković, Head of Marketing & Communications at ILBE Studios addressed the audience on behalf of our founders and film producers, Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi. She presented the film and the renowned artistic names behind this project, emphasizing the importance of the gender equality values the films speak for.

“Gender equality is one of the core values of ILBE and ILBE Studios which tend to further strengthen Italian-Serbian film collaborations. We look forward to produce more similar works in the future in Serbia – from women, to women, and for everyone, and to do more impactful works making world a better place for all of us.” – she stated.

Chiara Tilesi, We Do It Together Founder and film producer talked about the importance and relevance of the film storytelling as a powerful way of adressing important social topics, fighting for gender equality and celebrating women strength.

“Ilbe Studios represents the bright example of equal employment opportunities as half of their team is made up of women”, she stated, reffering to our team which was also took part in the production of the film.

Gabriella Carlucci, Festival Founder and Art Director, thanked to all partners and sponsors who support her activities and presented the the program which brings some of the most important Italian films to Serbia, presenting them alongside the best Serbian films. She also announced the authentic sideline festival events like fashion shows and food presentations.

H.E. Luca Gori pointed out the importance of the Italian-Serbian collaboration in all economic segmens, stating that recently 13 Memorandums of Understanding were signed betweend the Ministries of the two countries. He also mentioned that recently many large scale Italian companies have opend their representative offices in Serbia.

“Italy can be proud of its creative industry, and events like this help to promote it abroad, develop business relationships, and strengthen bilateral economic relations between Italy and Serbia,” Gori added.

Andrea Bosca, actor and a male lead in „Romanzo Radicale,“ Tatjana Žeželj Gojković, Archangel Digital StudiosRoberto Cincotta, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute and Zoran Đorđević, the director of the Post of Serbia which supports the festival, all spoke at the press conference. Igor Todorović, a stylist and fashion designer from Serbia, also addressed the audience and announced a fashion show at the Embassy, with Italian designers Nino Lettieri and Francesco Bracalenti.

 

About the film “Tell It Like a Woman”

The omnibus Tell It Like a Woman is composed of seven short films directed by women directors from different parts of the world: Lucia Bulgheroni, Silvia Carobbio, Catherine Hardwicke, Taraji P. Henson, Mipo O, Lucía Puenzo, Maria Sole Tognazzi, and Leena Yadav. Combining various styles and approaches, these creators presented their own views on the position of women in the world today.

International cast includes recognized female actors and some of the Hollywood stars Margherita Buy, Cara Delevingne, Jacqueline Fernandez, Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Hudson, Anjali Lama, Eva Longoria, Jasmine Luv, Leonor Varela, Pauletta Washington and Anne Watanabe.

Parts of the film’s animation and CGI production were done by ILBE Studios under the supervision of Peter Nalli, Head of Animation & VFX at ILBE and the film’s animation producer.

 

About the Italian-Serbian Film Festival

The Italian-Serbian Film Festival will take place at Jugoslovenska kinoteka from September 22 to 26. Founded with the mission of promoting cinematographic, cultural, and artistic exchange between Italy and Serbia, it presents the opportunity to enjoy contemporary films created in both countries. At the same time, it is a meeting point for film professionals who are willing to exchange experiences, start collaborations, and learn about the various funding, production, and co-production opportunities. These events will be attended by producers and distributors from Italy, Serbia, and Balkan countries.

The festival is organized by the cultural association “Excellence International” in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, the Italian Institute for Culture, the Yugoslav Film Archive, ILBE Studios, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, and Enit, a national Italian tourist organization. It is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Italy and the “Istituto Luce Cinecitta.
